Byrd's Nest Box, was established by Falani Spivey, a visionary with a passion for fresh produce and artisanal goods. The company specializes in crafting thoughtfully curated farm boxes filled with homegrown and handcrafted products. Falani's journey traces back to her childhood in Washington, DC, but it was the countless summers spent on her grandparents' farm in North Carolina that ignited her deep appreciation for homegrown produce.
Coming from a family of horticulturists, her upbringing instilled in her a profound connection to agriculture. In 2015, she embarked on her own journey, cultivating vegetable crops and paying homage to the rich history of African American homesteading.
Beyond her work at Byrd's Nest Box, Falani is also a youth advocate and arts educator. She dedicates her time to imparting knowledge through urban agroecology workshops throughout the DC metropolitan area, sharing her love for agriculture and sustainability with the next generation.
